REIKI (Ray-Key) comes from the Japanese words ‘rei’ meaning universal and ‘ki’ meaning life force. Every living thing has life force or energy. When this energy is balanced, then our mind, body, spirit can stay healthy. When the energy level is low or imbalanced we are more susceptible to illness and stress.

Reiki is an ancient Japanese form of healing developed in the early 1900's by Dr.Mikao Usui. Reiki has been practiced by healers and Buddhist monks for centuries. It rebalances and replenishes the energy in your body stimulating the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Reiki can ease stress, clear the mind and help to relieve physical ailments. It is not a cure for illness but can relieve symptoms and help strengthen the immune system which is often lowered by stress.

Jenn Bailey Streck is a Reiki Master Teacher of Usui/Tibetan Reiki Ryoho. Jenn is a certified affiliate member of the International Center for Reiki Training and an affiliate member of the Reiki Membership Association as a Reiki Master/Teacher in the Usui Shiki Ryoho style of Reiki. She has built her practice since 2014 in her community of Inman Park. Jenn has also completed RYT200 teacher training with Pranic Soul Yoga in 2018, which incorporates Kundalini, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga yoga and Meditation. She also has experience and knowledge of intuitive healing, sensitive children, aromatherapy, and crystal therapy, meditation, + yoga.

DOES THE FULL MOON MAKE YOU FEEL OUT OF WHACK or DO YOU THINK PEOPLE THAT TALK ABOUT FULL MOONS ARE WHACKY?  Full moons definitely make me feel different each time. Our bodies are made of 60% water, so why wouldn't the moon effect us?!  It brings out emotion that is hiding within us, and helps us face things we need to work on each month. — I really do try to make sure I meditate, write, and set an intention during the energy of each full moon.

GO-TO KARAOKE SONG: Any Beastie Boys song or Rob Base "It Takes Two" (That’s right…old school.)

LAST BOOK I READ + MY FAVORITE BOOK: I am always reading about 4 books at a time. This is such a hard question for me. I just read "Becoming A Baddass" by Jen Sincero. My favorite book is too hard to choose. I love learning, so I am always reading some kind of self help book ++ I do love a good sci-fy.

MY DAILY BALANCING TOOLS: I use “all the things” for balancing tools. I first take in how I feel each day, and use my ability to stay in the present moment. This helps me conquer tasks that I need to complete, without making me feel overwhelmed. I also consider each day differently. While I always want to have consistent practices, I focus on the tools that I need that particular day. There are many different tools I use, some of them being: Meditation in the morning, breathwork, exercise, walking barefoot, essential oils, yoga, clearing my energy, protecting my energy, utilizing crystals, writing, alone time, and surrounding myself with people that inspire me.

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU HAVE LEARNED THAT YOU LIKE TO SHARE WITH OTHERS: “POWER OF THE PAUSE”. Once you learn this technique, it can help you in so many ways. — To use this technique, you pause. If you are someone that is already thinking of the next thing you want to say in a conversation, pause and listen. If you are someone that over reacts emotionally, pause and listen. If you are someone that says YES to everything and over gives your time and energy, pause before responding yes. Its so surprising the change it will make for yourself, and the things you start to notice about you and others.
