Once A Month at 6:30PM
Please join Sam Ownby, recovery warrior and yoga teacher, ONCE A MONTH for a feminine sobriety gathering with tea, breath work, discussion, meditation, and community.
TUESDAY MAY 28TH from 6:30pm-8:30pm
We will discuss and meditate on a topic grounded in cultivating satya or truth seeking. This will be an exciting time of sharing healthy coping mechanisms with one another, and gaining insight and strength from the group. Sharing is encouraged, but not required. Feminine identifying individuals that are alcohol free or curious about sobriety may join us.
Sam says, “In my recovery from alcohol dependency and habitual coping mechanisms, I have learned to cultivate a foundation of practices to support more authentic intentions, words, and actions. This has not always been a rational process and one that is often difficult to put into words, but important for me to cultivate and share. Some of the practices that I have found extremely important in my sobriety are therapy, journaling, mantras, kriyas, meditations, and prayer. I believe that these practices are different for each individual, but a commitment to looking at one’s life with awareness, truth, and a deeper trust is at the core of developing an honest relationship with the self and an ability to “be” and sit with the discomfort rather than to numb. I’ve also learned that sober community with open discussion and understanding of our experiences toward and through sobriety helps build understanding, knowledge, hope, and courage.”
